UVA taps Liz Cheney as professor of politics, calls her ‘strong conservative’

Former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney has accepted an appointment to serve as a professor at the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia.

“The inaugural appointment is effective immediately and will run through the conclusion of the 2023 fall semester with an option to renew for one or more additional years,” the UVA Center for Politics announced in a news release Wednesday.

Cheney’s job will include participating in university-wide lectures, serving as a guest lecturer in student seminars, contributing to the Center for Politics research, and participating in other events, the announcement stated.
