Day 8: Tear gas, rubber bullets, officers injured — unruly anti-Israel campus protests continue

Chaos continued to erupt at several campuses Thursday as police forcibly removed and arrested pro-Palestinian protesters who refused to vacant their campus tent encampments in protest of the Hamas-Israel war.

The protests began last Thursday at Columbia University, and have since spread to several dozen universities across the nation. Quite a few are marked with chaos, police in riot gear, and students and other community agitators refusing to disperse despite multiple warnings.

More than 100 pro-Palestinian protesters were arrested at Emerson College on Thursday morning where four police officers were hurt rounding up demonstrators who refused to leave, CBS News Boston reported.

“Police reportedly warned them to leave and many who didn’t were arrested. …Classes at Emerson were canceled for the day Thursday and students were offered counseling,” it reported.
